Here are the updated MVC stats including Saturday's games-
https://mvc-sports.com/documents/2025/11/4//2025_26_MVC_MBB_All_Game_Stats.pdf

Notable-
Jaquan Johnson, despite a terrific 21 point game last night, has dropped to the #2 scorer in the MVC with an average of 18.20 ppg. He is 0.1 ppg behind Drake's Jalen Quinn who is averaging 18.30 ppg, following a 26 point game Friday against UAB.

Bradley's top rebounder is A.J. Smith, who ranks 17th with an average of 5.30 rpg

Bradley's dual point guards, Montana Wheeler (3.60 apg) and Jaquan Johnson (3.40 apg) rank 6th and 7th in assists per game

Jaquan Johnson continues to lead the MVC in steals (3.30 steals per game), but A.J. Smith is now 3rd with 2.00 steals per game.

Alex Huibregtse ranks 9th on the MVC stats page with his 41.3% three point FG%.- Note that the MVC lists any players who averaged at least 1.5 3-pointer per game.
However, the NCAA's official 3-point FG% stats require 2.5 3-pointers per game to officially qualify. Thus, using the NCAA qualifying stats, Alex actually ranks 2nd-
Alex's average of 3.1 made 3 point shots per game ranks 2nd.

Ahmet Jonovic, with 5 blocks last night, is now tied for 4th in blocks with 1.50 blocks per game.

Montana Wheeler, with 36 assists and just 11 turnovers, has the 2nd best assist/turnover ratio of 3.27

And the one biggest negative area among team stats is in rebounding. Bradley ranks 11th (last) in rebounding margin- an average of -3.60 per game.

I can guarantee if BU ranks toward the bottom in rebounding in MVC play, we end up playing on Thursday in St. Lou.
It was an issue last season (especially the lack of offensive boards) and I thought it was a point of emphasis this season, but continues to bite us.

The previous leading scorer in the MVC was Jalen Quinn of Drake. And Drake fans are suddenly stumped by his situation. In Drake's game last Thursday at Murray State, Quinn was Drake's leading scorer with 19 points through the first 34 minutes and 38 seconds of the game. Then, Drake head coach Eric Henderson pulled Quinn out, and he sat on the bench for the final 5:22 of the game. Drake went from being just 2 possessions behind to losing the game 81-72. No explanation was given for benching his leading scorer in the most crucial part of a key conference game. Then today in Drake's game at Evansville, Quinn, who had started every game and lead the MVC in minutes played, did not start and was benched for the entire first half. He did not start the 2nd half either, but he came in with about 18 minutes left and ended up playing 16 minutes off the bench and scoring just 6 points as Drake barely held on to beat Evansville 66-65. Apparently it was a coach's decision, though no explanation has been given.

When the MVC stats get updated to include today's games, Jalen Quinn's scoring average will drop to 17.85 ppg, and Jaquan Johnson's average will increase to 18.54 ppg.

there unconfirmed reports that he hurt his ankle....

"Senior guard Jalen Quinn did not start for the first time this season after tweaking an ankle in Drake's previous game. "

Our "MAN OF STEAL" , Jaquan Johnson, leads the nation in both total steals and steals per game, and of course leads the MVC by a wide margin as well, and also leads the MVC in scoring.

To that end let's hope other teams do not start to see if they can lure him away from Bradley. Human nature to want to know what other teams are offering. Just hope he decides to finish his career here.

One other MVC stat... below are the average attendance figures for each school. Bradley's historically low attendance of 2,585 for the North Central game at the Renaissance Coliseum significantly lowered the overall average. Despite that, Bradley still leads the MVC in attendance.
If only Carver Arena games are included, Bradley's average is 5,406.

Home attendance-
Bradley- 5,003
Murray State- 4,871
Indiana State- 4,588
Evansville- 4,424
Illinois State- 3,881
Southern Illinois- 3,735
Northern Iowa- 3,459
Drake- 3,170
Belmont- 1,921
UIC- 1,434
Valparaiso- 1,198

Note- Missouri State, now in the CUSA, is averaging 1,707 per game. Last year in the MVC they averaged 2,085. A couple years earlier, they were averaging about 4,000.

It's really sad that Belmont can't get more than 2000 fans. I would imagine they have a much larger alumni population nearby than Bradley does considering they have twice as many undergrads and Nashville has the size an dynamism to keep graduates in town. Belmont is perpetually good and they are not supported anywhere near as well as BU is. Thank You Peoria. Let's keep that attendance championship!

To their credit- Missouri State has a very good football season
-
Good enough for a bowl bid HOWEVER- they were deemed ineligible since this was their first year in CUSA.

But some heavyweights including local legislators & lawmakers lobbied & pressed NCAA to grant a waiver.

So just before they played the Xbox Bowl in Texas, their head coach gets hired away, then they get the waiver and got to play their bowl game.
They played well, rallied late but lost a close game.
