The Bradley men's and women's golf teams are hosting a 2 day tournament on Sunday and Monday at Coyote Creek. They will be playing 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday, starting at 8:30 Sunday as they will go off in a shotgun format. The men's tournament has Evansville, UI Springfield, Lindenwood, University of Southern Indiana and Illinois Central College while the women's tournament has ISU Red, Evansville, Eastern Illinois, UI Springfield, Lindenwood, Idaho State, Oakland University and Prairie View A&M. The men will be playing 4 individuals to go along with the 5 playing as a team. The team members are Sr Carter Stevenson from Pekin HS, Sr. Quinn Cox from Peoria Christian HS, Soph. Joey Cerney from Naperville, Soph. TJ Quinn from Shorewood and Sr. Brody McCarthy from Homer Glen. Playing as individuals are Fr. and Illini Golf employee Gavin Schreurs from Washington, Jr. Tommy Gneiser from Darien, Fr. Michael Johnson from Warrenville and Soph. Brogan Smith from Montgomery, Texas. They are also coming off their first team win since 2018 as they won the Dolenc Invitational at Gateway National in Madison as they shot 272, a new team record, 276 and 278 to win by 2 strokes. The women will have 2 individuals, Soph. Addison Jennings from Flower Mound, Texas and Fr. Allison Seitz from Indianapolis, Indiana, and the 5 playing as the team are Jr. Peyton Coburn from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sr. Jillian Cosler from Orland Park, Sr. Brooke Deebs from Houston, Texas, Fr. Meredith Finger from Wilmington, Delaware and Jr. Alyssa Mixon from Land O Lakes, Florida. So far this season the women have a 3rd place and 6th place finishes. The men will start on Holes 1-8 while the women will start on Holes 9-18. Good luck.

Thank you, Jimmy - very thorough!
This is something I like about this message board and the contributors here - they have interests in all sports and keep the rest of us informed.
Even a lot of good Bradley info during the basketball off-season.

Many other message boards especially some of the local ones and other MVC boards are incredibly slow and info is sparse.
I have been trying to dig up some reports from the Drake, UNI, Evansville, & SIU boards about their open practices and their public
scrimmages recently, and strangely there's almost nobody who either went & observed or who bothered to post what they saw.

I'm especially surprised that there wasn't one single comment or even a mention on the Northern Iowa message board about their
preseason scrimmage (their main basketball forum doesn't even have a UNI basketball post in the past week!) -that was right on their
campus in McLeod Arena. I guess it goes hand-in-hand with the fact that UNI used to be
one of the most rabid fan bases and often sold out their 7,000 seat McLeod Arena - but now they barely draw 3,000-
and sometimes just 2500 for an instate rival!

Both the Men's and Women's team won their own Invitational, the men winning by 5 and the women sharing the team title with Idaho State. Pekin grad Carter Stevenson won his first college tournament by 2 strokes as he had rounds of 66, 75 and 68 to finish at -4. Carter was tied with Soph. from ICC, an East Peoria grad and Illini Golf employee Connor Watson through 71 holes and Carter birdied his last hole, #18, while Connor bogeyed his last hole, #3. Finishing in 3rd, playing as an individual, was BU Fr. and Illini Golf Employee Gavin Schreurs from Washington who finished at -1. All of the team contributed in getting a 2nd straight tournament win. Brodie McCarthy finished 6th with rounds of 70, 75 and 69 to finish at +1, Joey Cerney finished 9th with rounds of 74, 72 and 73 to finish at +6, Quinn Cox finished T12th with rounds of 69-76 and 77 to finish at +9 and TJ Quinn finished 28th with rounds of 73, 76 and 81 to finish at +17. Carter started his round on Monday with birdies on 4 of his first 5 holes and finished with birdies on 3 of his last 6. The men will try for their 3rd tournament win in a row on the 19th and 20th in the Twin Oaks Invitational at Springfield, Missouri.
For the women Peyton Coburn lost by just 1 stroke for the individual title as she had rounds of 78, 74 and 74 to finish at +10. Just like the men the women got contributions from all 5 women. Jillian Cosler and Alyssa Mixon finished tied for 9th at +18 as Jillian had 3 rounds of 78 and Alyssa had rounds of 79, 76 and 79. Meredith Finger had rounds of 78, 81 and 80 to shoot +23 and finish tied for 23rd and Brooke Deebs finished tied for 19th with rounds of 79, 77 and 84 to finish at +24. Playing as an individual Allison Seitz had rounds of 75, 83 and 77 to finish at +19 and tied for 12th. The women go for back to back championships as the also will be playing on the 19th and 20th as they play at the Edisto Island Invitational in near Charlestown, South Carolina. Way to go all!!
