LMU Bench

Disturbed

New member
What'd everyone think about the LMU towel/water girl yelling during our free throws while sitting on their bench? I was stunned. Can't believe their coaching staff allows that to go on.

I guess you could. She was merely yelling at her boys to rebound, so I'm not sure that's a violation of any kind, no different than if one of the players or coaches was doing it. All I'm saying is that she was loud and it was obvious she was doing it at the point when our guys were about to shoot, when it was basically quiet in the arena. It was pretty classless, especially on the road.

Can assess a technical....
No technical can be assessed but it sure is classless. If she was seated at all times no rule has been violated. She is not allowed to stand along with the subs on the bench. They could also yell if they so wanted but, I have never seen that happen. A good coach would not allow it to happen. Don't understand why the head coach would allow that to happen.

I was sitting at half court, across from their bench, in row E, and she was really loud. I think I saw one of the assistants tell her to stop when BU was shooting late in the game, but not positive on that.

Classless is the perfect word. The coach is an ***** for not controlling it.

I can understand people being upset as it is classless, but if one person yelling from the opposing team's bench is going to bother our players, what is going to happen when we go on the road and we have a whole arena yelling at our players? I just think this isn't really that big of a deal.

I'd say one single person yelling is a LOT more distracting than a whole bunch of people yelling. The more the people yell, the better, frankly.

It's not that SOMEONE was yelling. That happens at bball games. Our fans do it to the visiting players.

It's that it was PERSONNEL from the other team. Usually team members or team employees do not yell during the other teams FT's. IF a BU manager or trainer did that, I would expect Jim to let them go.

IMO, players on the lines raising their hands as the free thrower shoots should have the same consequence as stepping in the lane too soon.

i loved it when maniscalco got fouled shooting a 3 and she was yelling rebound for all 3 free throws. if u are going to yell something at least yell a correct statement. there is no rebound one shot one or two.

If our trainer or manager yelled during opponets free throws,I don't know if Jim would let them go but I 'll bet it would only happen once. Team Personnel should NEVER yell during opponets free throws or be allowed to by their Head Coach. It gives a new meaning to poor sportsmanship period.

We sit across in section 4 and it took us awhile to figure out where the noise was coming from, it was very disturbing to see her doing this from their bench, she was standing up when S.M. was at the line at the end of the game yelling.

My girlfriend was not at all happy with the attire of said female...

Personally shoulderless outfits on managers.... aint all that bad :)

GREAT. I was on the far side of the SS behind the basket so I couldn't see her....if she was hott i don't care..

Seriously though.....everyone freaking out like wuss girls is annoying.

If we lost this could have been some of you guys' number 1 reason for our loss lol...smh

Please quote the rule dogs. If she was sitting and an official asked her to stop, which they wouldn't, and she didn't then one could be assessed. If she is standing and yelling yes but not if seated. Totally classless thats all.

A very reliable poster OTOB emailed one of the areas top officials thats a friend to find the rule.

Per rule Unsportsmanlike conduct can be assessed but he added Refs are very reluctant to do so as long as its not interfering with the administration of the game. Refs can also assess on fans as you well know but very seldomly do so....

I agree no call should have been made but the coach or one of his assistants should have told her to stop.
