How good will we really be in 26-27????

I've been reading all these reports about how good other Valley teams are going to be according to MVC Hoops.
They have given very little hype to BU. I'm, honestly, excited to see what we have but what kind of team will we really be?
Looking for other people's thoughts.

I think we will be very good. When you look at the players individual stats one has to be impressed. Their potential is very high. The challenge will be if the coaches can bring out that potential and mold them into a cohesive unit. I would expect them to lose games at the beginning of the season but then crescendo at the the end. At the end I think they will be very hard to beat

Agreed, I think there will be some hiccups early in the season, but I have no reason to think BU won't be able to compete for the title next year with the talent they brought in. Going big at the guard position is going to payoff IMO, and I fully expect a top 3 finish in the MVC.

Everything to me depends on whether or not we can make a decent amount of 3 pointers. I have no idea right now if we have enough good 3 point shooters on this team.

yeah-
everyone said Murray State and ISU were gonna blow everyone away last year and yet
Belmont & Bradley finished 1-2 with UNI winning the tourney over UIC, so I am hesitant to buy into the "experts'" hype.

There are too many variables to predict the end results of MVC teams for next season. Last year most people thought that Murray State, Belmont and ISU red would be the top contenders. I think Wardle did well finishing second during the conference season before the tournament. But UIC and Valpo played better in the tournament and Belmont and Murray State did not win as anticipated. Obviously, good point guards are important. I think fans will learn more about our strengths and deficiencies in the first 7 games before the conference season. I feel it is prudent to be cautiously optimistic.

I think some are on campus now and others will arrive later.
The first summer session began May 20 and ends July 1. The second summer session starts July 8 and ends August 19.

Any one know when all players are to report on campus to begin summer workouts.

I would expect a top 3-4 finish and another 20-win season. It has become a thing to be expected that a Brian Wardle coached team will compete for a conference championship and postseason tournament invitation. I expect nothing less for the upcoming season.

I think how good we are is directly related to two things. One, how well our players come together and play as a team, not as a a bunch of individuals. Two, how well they buy into Coach’s game plan. I think last years team lacked in both areas. How many times did coach state in post game interviews he couldn’t get them to follow his game plan.
