New Class of 2020 rankings are out...

Adam Miller is #32
Mabor Majak is #66
...neither mentions a Bradley offer in their details...

Tremell is an Indiana native and played with Indiana Elite so I am sure we are in on him but so are a lot of others...

Anthony missed half the season with injury and right now isn't being recruited as vigorously- but he still might be a steal as he is an extremely similar player

in two of Anthony's last 3 games he scored 15 & 17 on 8-17 from 3-pt range

A couple more new names- our coaches continue to work hard -

2018 Chandler Bevans- 6'7" wing player from Clark County High School in Kahoka, Missouri. he was an All State player in Missouri last year as a junior, and is putting up big scoring numbers as a senior.

His sister Carissa Bevans is a star basketball player for their high school girls team.

2019 Malcolm Whitlow- 6' guard from Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended Lincoln Northeast High School until a week ago, but left school and is now at Carrollwood Day School, a private school in Tampa, Florida.
He was ranked the #2 recruit in the state of Nebraska in the class of 2019 before leaving the state.
He was All State last year as a sophomore while averaging 22.1 ppg.

I know our staff has been over in Iowa but I still do not know if we are recruiting Ivan Aurrecoechea but he had another monster game with 25 pts/15 rebs

Wow! I don't know if he can defend/rebound/ pass... but he's got tremendous low post footwork/moves and touch... and can finish above the rim. 6'8" 240 lbs who "goes to work" as soon as he catches it on the block... man we haven't had one of these types since....????

Just imagine how valuable it would be to add a reliable offensive post threat to compliment our outside shooters... somebody who can draw a double team to allow Childs to clean up the weak side boards. This is what we need.

guys like Bret Bisping (15 ppg & 10.5 rpg at Siena), Robert Covington (18 ppg/8 rpg at Tenn. State) and Chas McFarland (8.6 ppg & 6 rpg at Wake Forest) never got a look from any school in the midwest even tho they were right here in their back yard - but turned out to be pretty solid big men.

Ivan is definitely gonna be playing DI Ball next year - time will tell how he does...
Even Michael Ochereobia (9 ppg & 5.4 rpg his senior year) did a credible job elsewhere

And Robert Covington is playing in the NBA now for the Philadelphia 76ers.

A new name that Bradley is following-
2018 Ochai Agbaji- a senior at Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He is an athletic 6'4" shooting guard who has had a recent growth spurt and emerged as one of the top players and scorers in the Kansas City area. He also plays with the MoKan Elite summer program.

Bradley recruit Ochai Agbaji has really blown up in the last couple weeks. When I first posted about him, he only had a couple offers from lower mid-majors.
In the last couple weeks he has received offers from Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, and today he received an offer from Kansas.

I guess it is time to move on to the next one. Outside of Cunningham, when was the last time we out recruited a 'big' school. In Cunningham, there were other things playing into his decision.

2018 Xavier Pinson from Simeon had narrowed to UC-Davis & Kent State-
then he verballed to KENT STATE - but now he's withdrawn his verbal and reopened...
https://twitter.com/xpinson3/status/919261745906057216

Sometimes it benefits a kid to wait.
2018 point guard Xavier Pinson was offered by a number of mid-majors, including several MVC schools, and he committed to Kent State early last fall. Then he apparently learned quickly that he might do better than Kent State, and withdrew his commitment. He has had a fairly decent senior season so far, though not spectacular. Simeon, is the top ranked school in the state of Illinois, and there are 4 or 5 other D1 recruits on his team who are all ranked as high or higher than Pinson. Most recruiting sites have him as a 2-star recruit, and Rivals recently upped him to 3-stars. Most state rankings have Pinson ranked somewhere between the 15th and 20th best player in the state of Illinois in the class of 2018.

But despite not being ranked as high as most Power-5 conference recruits, by waiting, a number of bigger schools got more and more desperate for a point guard, so he started getting better offers like Wisconsin, Georgetown, Dayton, and Missouri.
Today, he committed to Missouri.

Helps when the "high majors" start to get desperate. Not intended to disparage the kid, but there seemed to be consensus he was a mid major talent until late.

As has been mentioned, it is harder for a mid-major to get quality players in the April signing period. It is not impossible just harder.

Yes, especially when the bigger schools are desperate to fill open scholarships, and they gobble up a lot of kids better suited for mid-majors just to stock their bench with backups and practice players.
I'd bet that if someone did an analysis of these lower rated kids who suddenly get offers from major schools late in the recruiting cycle and see what happens to them in the subsequent years, you'd find that a far higher percentage of them don't get much playing time, get "recruited over", and transfer within 1 or 2 years to find a better school for them where they play more. I am not necessarily predicting that will happen to Pinson, but there is a good chance it could.

But their high school and AAU coaches always try to get these kids to the highest possible level, and not necessarily the best fit for the kid, because it is a feather in their caps, which they use to recruit other kids to their programs.

It is unfortunate that Bradley is facing this when trying to fill scholarship(s). I know if Boya reclassifies we have filled two scholarships but there is usually some extra movement between years.

Trying to keep up with all the additions & subtractions....
