Have yet to hear if Jaquon Johnson intends to stay or enter the portal. Maybe I missed it if he intends to stay. Hope he stays and Wardle can recruit and get players to replace what we have so far lost. The entire front court, Montana Wheeler and maybe Demarion Burch. Talk about a rebuilding year. No other way to put it in my view. Hope the players we get gel as a team and have success this coming season. Excited about Gustavo and Thornbrue. The frontcourt on this years team were all hyped up upon them coming to Bradley. Proof is in the pudding of the new players for next year pan out like we all hope they do.

There was one post from a BU fan on X.com who claimed to have an inside report that Jaquan, along with most of the players voiced initial intent to return in the "exit interviews" the coach does with every player at the end of the season. However, as we've seen with Montana and Kai, the final decision can be different. But for now, it's true that no news is good news.

We hit the jackpot with Alex.... and AJ was solid, too.....
If you look at the best players in the MVC...
6 of the top 10 scorers were guys that came to the MVC from the portal
4 of the top 10 rebounders...
5 of the top 10 in FG accuracy
5 of the top 10 in assists
6 of the top 10 in steals
5 of the top 10 in 3-point shooting
6 of the top 10 in blocked shots
and 9 of the top 15 in minutes played are all guys from the transfer portal!
..and so on.... amazing how the transfer portal reshuffles the MVC every year now.....

We can ABSOLUTELY replace our front court from last season and probably improve in that area.
Kai Yu is not a big loss.
Wheeler - can't get much better as a backup PG, but he's no Bully.

Not sure how attached JJ is/was to BU, but I know he was close to Meta, Montana, and Burch fwiw. I'm just not feeling good about it, and the season just ended less than a week ago.

The Mid-Majors are in a terrible spot. If you do stumble upon the kid that could potentially put your program over the top, the chances of them staying 2 years, let alone 4, are slim. The MM have become a feeder to the P5 schools. I can’t remember the last time I heard the word “education” in NCAA Athletics. It’s pathetic.

Until there is a collective bargaining agreement, the players will continue to negotiate as free agents every year. The agents that represent the players have a self interest to keep this in place.
I am renewing my season tickets for next year. I’m not so sure about the future. I believe Wardle is doing his best, but there are too many factors that he can’t control.

The name of the game is Chaos, and volatility in college athletics appears to be growing, not subsiding. We are still weeks from the transfer portal actually even opening. Nothing is a sure bet until the portal is officially closed. Like all eras of life right now, a new chaotic order it being ushered in all around us. It won't be pleasant going through it, but we best get used to it.
